Love Without Boundaries Foundation seeks to facilitate the best possible outcomes for orphaned and impoverished children in China, Cambodia, and Uganda. One of our goals is to heal the whole child, with the strongest desire for each child to join a family or successfully bridge to society as an adult orphan. The Foundation bases its mission and goals on the fundamental belief that Every Child Counts, and therefore it is worth every effort to seek the best possible outcomes for each and every child. We seek to provide medical treatment and healing, family living and educational opportunity as well as enhanced life experiences for orphaned children and those living in abject poverty who may be vulnerable to abandonment.

The Foundation performs work in four main focus areas: Healing (including medical treatment and healing in specialized homes), Education, Foster Care, and Nutrition.

Through Healing, we provide hundreds of medical and surgical treatments annually for the physical healing of children from both orphanages and rural communities in China, Cambodia, and Uganda. Additionally, supportive pre- and post-operative medical support is provided through our two healing centers in China.

Our Foster Care program provides an opportunity for hundreds of institutionalized children in China and for orphaned and trafficked children in Cambodia to know family life and love as the member of a traditional household. LWB identifies foster families and compensates them for fostering orphaned and institutionalized children. This experience aids in healing the whole child, as they learn what it means to love and to be loved, as well as understand the roles of and within a family.

The LWB Education program offers in-orphanage schools in China for children unable to attend local public school (typically due to special needs), as well as building and running schools for rural villages in Cambodia and Uganda. Schools opened in partnership with orphanages bring children into the classroom who were previously not receiving an education or who were unable to continue as the result of a special need. Basic preschool and early elementary curriculum are provided. Older children in Cambodia are provided with tuition assistance to attend local public school or vocational training, when possible.

Our Nutrition program provides supplement nutrition and support to existing programs, allowing more children to be served through LWB's main focus areas.

Love Without Boundaries has competent and professional staff in each country who work every day to implement its main program areas. Directors, managers, teachers and nannies all play a role in implementing the Foundation's goals. The Directors communicate with orphanage staff, government officials, and other LWB team members about children who have been identified as having needs that LWB may be able to help meet. An intake process allows the child to be admitted for care by the Foundation.

A worldwide team of volunteers leads the planning and coordinating efforts for these programs. The volunteer program managers communicate with in-country team members, and collaborate with them in the care planning and oversight of the children's well being. The volunteer coordinators and assistant coordinators get to know each child through their records and ongoing reports and photos. They help to ensure that the needs of the child are being identified and met, and they also build critical relationships with donors and supporters through reporting and updates so that funding for the important work continues.

A small western staff is employed full-time, including our CEO and Financial Director, as well as a part-time support staff to meet the needs of communications, administration, operations and finance.

A passionate and dedicated Board leads the Foundation and seeks to expand and bring on new and talented individuals who can bring fresh ideas and increased revenue to LWB.

The greatest capabilities of LWB are in its committed team members, from those working in each country to the volunteers around the world, the staff in the US to the incredible supporters who make it all possible. The relationship building between these individuals and with partner organizations in each country (including officials, orphanage staff and other charities) impacts the lives of many children in a profound and positive way. The greatest strength of LWB is having the best people in just the right place to get the job done for the kids in our care.

Love Without Boundaries knows the progress it is making because of its ability to monitor program success. We are able to identify measures within each program area, such as the number of surgeries provided, mortality rates and re-hospitalization of kids who enter medical care. We can track the weight and growth, as well as observe the overall development, of children in our healing homes. Our team members can monitor children within the Foster Care program through site visits conducted by our China staff members and determine how the children are adjusting, if they are physically and emotionally well, if the foster parents have concerns, and also to look for key indicators of healthy bonding and attachment taking place. The teachers in our Education program, as well as managers, visit with the children and observe them in the classroom setting. They can assess whether they are making academic progress, in addition to showing signs of improved mood and overall well being. A combination of both qualitative and quantitative data is available and can be tracked over time, to allow ongoing feedback and improvement to LWB programs.

Love Without Boundaries continues to grow and serve more children. We always remember that Every Child Counts, so we never give up on the work. LWB works to enhance existing relationships and foster new ones with foundations and corporations wishing to support vulnerable children, and with individuals who have a heart for children in need.

Due to the Foundation's expansion, it has become necessary to hire more staff to provide ongoing and consistent administrative support to the over 165 active world-wide volunteers and the nearly 75 employees in China. We would like to continue to expand our donor base and increase support and donations for the important humanitarian aid work we are doing for orphaned and impoverished children in China. The unmet needs are enormous, but increased funding will allow more children to receive the gift of hope for achieving their best possible life.
