Our main objective, as laid out in our mission statement, is to provide meaningful lifelong learning opportunities for our members, who are all age 50 or better. These members are given the opportunity to take classes in a wide variety of topics as well as build meaningful friendships in a safe and secure environment. We have continued to offer classes in each of the categories listed above and strengthened our class offerings in the areas where we receive a large number of registrations to accommodate the needs of our members. The Lifelong Learning Institute continues to promote healthy living and well-being for midlife and older adults. We accomplish this everyday by enhancing our member's quality of life with each class attended and each friendship built.

Our strategies are in five categories: Membership, Financial, Program Enhancement, Governance and Facilities. Progress toward our goals is monitored daily by our Executive Director and annually by our Board of Directors. We desire to continue using the resources that have been entrusted to us (i.e. funds, human resources and facilities) to continue offering a quality program as our membership increases.

LLI offers an outstanding program in Chesterfield County that enhances quality of life for adults 50 and better in the area and provides the opportunity to maintain healthy lives. In addition to our partnerships with the Virginia Center On Aging at VCU, Chesterfield County and Chesterfield County Public Schools, over 300 volunteer instructors contribute by teaching a class or many classes each year, and our members donate thousands of volunteer hours so that we may continue accomplishing our mission each and every day.

We collect and monitor data on memberships, registrations, attendance and course satisfaction. We also invite members to submit testimonials and remain transparent in our governance.

We have accomplished so much, including our growth to over 1100 members in 2019. We look forward to increasing growth with the increasing 50+ population in our area.
