Mission

The Theater of Light strives to deliver illuminating performances on subjects that are uplifting, relevant compelling and most importantly, entertaining to segments of our community whose access to traditional theater may be restricted. ​

Notes from the nonprofit

Seniors are often the forgotten population, with no political power and no money. The Theater of Light Inc. provides free professional performances of plays written with them in mind and talk-backs after the show giving the seniors special acknowledgement.

LIGHTSUP/FADETOBLACK Three short new works

Founded and incorporated as a not for profit 501c(3), the Theater of Light Inc. has been serving the New York community for over 20 years. It has partnered with Disney on Broadway and schools, and most recently has focused efforts on bringing professional theater to senior centers, with a select number of public performances at Theater 71, 152 West 71 Street. Twice a year, spring and fall, we produce the LIGHTSUP/FADETOBLACK festival of three new short plays.
