Mission

One Story, Inc. celebrates the art form of the short story and the authors who write them by creating a vibrant community of readers and writers of literary short fiction. Our award-winning magazines, One Story and One Teen Story, feature one short story in each issue and arrive in the homes of over 8,000 subscribers each month like a letter from a friend. Our online craft writing classes are affordable and open to all who register—over 1,000 Americans join us to write online each year.

Publication of One Story and One Teen Story

One Story, Inc. edits, prints, distributes, and promotes twelve issues of One Story and three issues of One Teen Story eadh year. Issues are wdelivered by mail and via the Kindle platform.

Both magazines feature a single short story. This simple format introduces a wide and enthusiastic audience of readers to a different voice every month and shines a crucial spotlight on the work of emerging and established short story writers. The writers published, many of whom are at the earliest stages of their career, see a significant career boost from this spotlight.
