AFA Project Ceasefire!

Americans for Artsakh's (AFA) Project Ceasefire! informs the general public about Azerbaijani ceasefire violations on the Line-of-Contact between the Nagorno Karabakh Republic, Artsakh and the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Azerbaijan's violations of the Ceasefire Agreement it signed with the Nagorno Karabakh Republic and Armenia in 1994, result in dozens of Armenian casualties each year.

The Minsk Group, created under the auspices of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) to facilitate a peaceful resolution to the Nagorno Karabakh conflict, has proposed that snipers be removed from both sides of the Line-of-Contact separating Armenian and Azerbaijani forces. While the Armenian side agreed to this proposal, Azerbaijan refused it.

Project Ceasefire! reports on the number of weekly Azerbaijani ceasefire violations, including the number of shots fired by Azerbaijani forces at Armenian front-line soldiers and the types of weapons used. It also draws attention to the Armenian victims of Azerbaijani ceasefire violations, in order to generate awareness about the human cost of the violations.
