Vishesh is our attempt to improve the lives of extremely poor and at-risk children by providing them financial assistance for basic necessities and an opportunity for education.

We believe that education is the only way out of poverty. Unfortunately, poor families are unable to provide for the basic needs of their children such as food and clothing, let alone the education. In fact, most parents have no choice but to send their young children out to work to help support the financial needs of the family. Sometimes, children as young as five work as laborers to earn meagre wages. These children are not only deprived of a normal childhood but are also exposed to extremely dangerous conditions. This project hopes to intervene and rescue these children from the risks of poverty and provide them with resources and opportunities to live a better life.

The children that we support under Vishesh come through the referral of the members of the community and Beyond Intent volunteers. We perform a thorough background check to determine the authenticity of the recipients. Our local volunteers make regular visits to the child’s family and school to verify that the funds allocated are being used for the purpose intended.

The type of assistance and the amount of funds allocated to each child are on a case-by-case basis depending upon the individual need. Every child has a different set of challenges, we try and address those in the best way that we can.

Vishwajeet, a boy with disability needs money for basic necessities and medical expenses while Monika, a twelve year old girl at risk for child-marriage, needs to be sent to a boarding school. The ultimate goal of Vishesh is to improve the living conditions of at-risk children and equip them with education and the skills that would help them become successful and contributing members of the society.

Each child – helped under Vishesh – faces a life challenge that threatens their right to have a normal life. Support from donors like you will help rescue these children from their extreme conditions and provide them with an opportunity to live a happy and fulfilling life that they deserve!
