What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Information and Referral Helpline

NEDA's Information and Referral Helpline is a great place to start if you are contemplating getting help or already know that it is what you need, as we are equipped with the necessary resources to help you find treatment, support groups and research studies that can be of assistance. We also have a variety of programs designed to provide personal support to individuals who are suffering and family members who are supporting a loved one with an eating disorder. From insurance issues to loss support to recovery maintenance, NEDA has programs and resources that can help.

Population(s) Served

The Body Project is an early intervention program backed by two decades of research and evaluation data. It gives high school girls the tools and skills to confront unrealistic beauty ideals and develop healthy body image and self-esteem.

Population(s) Served

The Online Eating Disorder Screening is facilitated by a partnership between NEDA and Screening for Mental Health, Inc. This screening tool assesses warning signs of an eating disorder. It is not a replacement for clinical evaluation, but it interprets whether or not an individual should be concerned about thoughts and behaviors they may be experiencing and should therefore seek professional help.

Population(s) Served

The Feeding Hope Fund for Clinical Research provides grants to clinical researchers who have been selected through a very competitive application process. These grants focus on innovative treatment, prevention and training research.

Population(s) Served

NEDA Walks unite communities and raise awareness and vital funds to support NEDA’s programs and services. Individuals and families come together in cities across the country to build community and create change.

Population(s) Served

National Eating Disorders Awareness Week (NEDAwareness Week) mobilizes thousands of dedicated volunteers, organizations and media outlets for the largest eating disorders outreach effort in the nation. NEDAwareness Week provides information, resources and messages promoting early intervention, hope and recovery.

Population(s) Served

Solutions Through Advocacy and Reform (STAR) advocates and encourages others to advocate for legislation at the state and federal levels that promotes awareness, education, early intervention, prevention, research funding and improved access to treatment of eating disorders.
