Career Counseling
Career Counseling Support: Individual career-counseling - Provided free of charge, unlimited one-on-one career-counseling is at the heart of CTFD's program of self-evaluation, discovery, motivation, and achievement. 'Career Conversations' - Large group workshops/seminars that address urgent topics for transitioning dancers. Focus Groups - Series of small group sessions of career-counseling in the company of peers. CareerLine - nationwide toll-free individual career-counseling provided by phone conferencing. National Outreach Project - CTFD takes its mission and methods throughout the nation to cities with a strong professional dance presence and a culturally supportive community. Local Outreach - CTFD's programs are structured for advanced students and pre-professionals in New York City colleges, universities, conservatories, performing arts high schools, and dance company-related academies. Financial Support Educational scholarships and entrepreneurial grants for undergraduate and graduate degrees, or for training leading to vocational certification. Resource Information Resource Centers - Bi-coastal libraries stocked with career-change publications, job search directories, and videos of Career Conversations, as well as computers and printers. National Networking Directory - A publication listing clients and alumni, their schools, careers, and e-mail addresses for peer support and professional mentoring. Website - www.careertransition.org. The organization's website describes its services, Board, staff, and helpful links. MovingOn - A semi-annual newsletter sent to more than 7,500 clients/alumni, contributors, and friends.
