Public Safety & Sanitation

The Operations Division of the Times Square Alliance seeks to facilitate a world-class experience for all those who live, work, & visit Times Square. The Alliance Public Safety Department and Sanitation Department help maintain the beauty and vibrancy of the neighborhood year-round.

The Times Square Alliance works to improve and promote Times Square cultivating the creativity, energy and edge that have made the area an icon of entertainment, culture and urban life for over a century.

Public Safety
Times Square Alliance Public Safety Officers (PSOs) patrol the district 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. As the eyes and ears of the Alliance, they work with NYPD to keep Times Square safe.

Sanitation
The Alliance's team of 80 Sanitation Associates works tirelessly to keep Times Square clean and beautiful, from collecting trash and recycling throughout the district to removing stickers on lamp posts and pieces of gum on Duffy Square.

Promotion
The Alliances Stakeholder Services and Communications teams work to promote local businesses and help them thrive in Times Square through social media posts, email campaigns, and website promotion.

Arts & Culture
The Alliance curates and produces public art installations and free open-air events 365 days a year to make the district a major cultural destination and create a desirable atmosphere for locals and visitors.
