What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Saving Children - Medicine in the Service of Peace
The "Saving Children” project was initiated by the late President Peres in 2003 and has since become the one of the Peres Center's most crucial projects. This humanitarian initiative provides complex medical services to Palestinian babies and children in Israeli hospitals when those services are not available to them at home.
Since the beginning of this project, around 12,000 Palestinian children and babies have been referred to Israeli hospital at no cost to the parents from both Gaza and the West Bank.
Twinned Peace Sports Schools
The longest running coexistence sport program in the Middle East, this program provides Arab and Jewish, Palestinian and Israeli boys and girls with weekly sports training, peace education and inter-language learning. Children meet their ‘twinned’ school for monthly joint activities and special events in a safe, healthy and fun environment built on principles of equality, diversity and respect.

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
Our mission is to promote lasting peace and advancement in the Middle East by fostering tolerance, economic and technological development, cooperation and well-being – all in the spirit of President Peres' vision.
Our Goals:
-To advance the creation of a real, effective and durable peace between Israel and its neighbors.
-To foster cooperation and people to people interactions
-To nurture a culture of peace in the regions youth
-To expand programming in all departments to spread the message of peace within the region
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
Programs are designed to empower the populations of this region to be actively engaged in peacebuilding in order to advance the creation of a real, effective and durable peace, and are implemented in four core fields:
Innovation, Medicine & Healthcare, Peace Education (through sport, the arts and technology), and Business & Environment.
By focusing on common interests, the Peres Center continues to successfully forge lasting partnerships. Barriers are broken down, fears are overcome, dialogues are conducted and friendships are formed, paving the way to a real and lasting peace between peoples. Through working with partner organizations, we address real needs on the ground while also bringing in elements of peacebuilding, tolerance, and mutual respect.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
Founded in 1996, the Peres Center for Peace has almost 20 years of experience in the field of peacebuilding. We have close relations with all of our partner organizations as well as the local communities in which we work. We have learned many lessons over the years on how to produce the best programs with the strongest results, and we work closely with our partner organizations to ensure that program participants get the most out of their experience.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
Since its founding in 1996, the Peres Center for Peace has:
-Brought 20,000 children from disadvantaged Palestinian, Arab, and Israeli communities together through year-long peace dialogues and joint sporting activities.
-Provided life-saving medical care to around 12,000 Palestinian Children.
-Facilitate business meetings for 600 Palestinian business professionals with Israeli companies.
-Brought over 10,000 Palestinian and Israeli youth together in meaningful dialogue through the mediums of theater and visual arts.
