What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

The Leary Firefighters Foundation

Since its inception, the Foundation has raised over $13 million for fire departments in New York, Massachusetts, and New Orleans, LA. These funds have financed the construction of a new Burn Tower and Training facility which currently serves the fire departments of Central Massachusetts and the acquisition of the FDNY's first-ever Mobile Command Post, a state-of-the-art emergency management vehicle which will be a vital asset in responding to future emergencies and large scale events. The Foundation is currently funding the development and construction of a state-of-the-art High Rise Simulator at the FDNY Training Academy. In 2006 we developed a program to come to the aide of the New Orleans Fire Dept., gifting them first with a fleet of search and rescue boats, and in 2007 funding and providing resources for the rebuilding and restoration of firehouses devastated by Hurricane Katrina. The Foundation has also distributed over $1.9 million to the families of the 343 heroic firefighters who perished at the World Trade Center.
