Compassionate Care

New York City Rescue Mission (NYCRM) operates as a controlled affiliate of The Bowery Mission, the nation's oldest rescue mission serving New Yorkers experiencing homelessness since the 1870s. NYCRM's former campus at 90 Lafayette St. -- now called The Bowery Mission's Tribeca Campus – continues to offer safe, clean overnight shelter for men and women each night. Guests may stay overnight for up to seven days with opportunities for extensions.

Amenities include: daily meals and showers; clothing closet, clinical case management; referrals to medical care, mental health care and detox; and intake for longer-term residential programming. All guests are invited to build trusting relationships with our staff and connect to long-term services and supports.

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

New York City Rescue Mission's goal is to provide help and hope to New Yorkers who are hungry, homeless and hurting. The nation's oldest rescue mission, New York City Rescue Mission has provided basic needs assistance to New Yorkers in need since 1872. Every year we build on this legacy, driven by our desire to deliver the most effective care.

Since 1872, New York City Rescue Mission has drawn on its experience working with people experiencing homelessness and poverty to inform its programs. Last year, in collaboration with The Bowery Mission, it provided 255,000 meals and 54,000 nights of shelter.
