Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

Our mission “to enrich our communities with programs and services that advance education, culture and civic engagement, empower individuals, celebrate our diversity, and reveal what we have in common”, has never been more relevant or more important than it is today. While our audiences have more media options than ever, few of those options are driven by mission, few are deeply rooted in our local community, and few share our vision for the future of “a community confident in its identity, its potential fully realized, inspired and connected through trusted public media.”

In our lifetimes, our country, and our communities, have never seen more division. The emotional and practical turmoil of the past year, wrought by the pandemic, by long standing issues of systemic racism and by a deeply divided political environment, have rendered us a community in need of healing; a task that public media is well positioned to support. This will require intentional growth to become not just a trusted convener but a demonstrated leader on issues of community importance. We look forward to the unique opportunity in (re)building our community that the next three years afford and are grateful to be in a position of strength as we undertake our work.

We expect to achieve much during the course of the coming years as these key outcomes will be at the center of our work.

Engage: Develop new pathways to understand community needs and lead with intention to address key issues.

Create: Complete the transition to a creative process that supports a community based, multi-platform digital media organization.

Organize: Support and embrace an employee culture of collaboration, innovation and diversity.

Sustain: Increase net revenue to support continued growth and success of the organization.
