What we aim to solve

Generation Z. They have been nick-named "The Screeners." They are struggling with their identity, drugs, alcohol, relationships, and what is real in this life. So many students in this generation do not have a relationship with Jesus. They don't know that God loves them, and they think Christianity is boring and out of date. They face lives filled with social media, and relationships that are twisted and distorted from what God originally intended. They don't go to church and they don't know they are loved and created with purpose.

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

We exist to build Christ-sharing relationships with students who do not have a relationship with Jesus. We pursue them wherever they are. We spend time with them and listen to them, earning the right to be heard when it comes what really matters in life: Knowing God and being known and loved by him.

We aim to love them where they are in their brokeness and walk along-side them. We want to mentor them and model Christ's transformative ability to love broken youth while simultaneously calling them toward holiness and repentance.

We do all this by recruiting, training, and equipping leaders to build relationships with students. Our team is made of youth pastors, parents, and teachers, and not just adult leaders, but Christian students who know Christ and want to share his gospel with their friends. These leaders are the heart and soul of our ministry programs: Campus Life, Core, YFC Camp.

Campus Life ministry combines healthy relationships with creative programs to help young people make good choices, establish a solid foundation for life, and positively impact their schools. Like every ministry of YFC, Campus Life seeks to engage these young people wherever they are found as lifelong followers of Jesus Christ. Campus Life encourages a balanced life – mentally, physically, spiritually, and socially.

YFC Core teams are teams of Christian students with adult coaches who together, actively love in a way that naturally invites friends to follow Christ with them.

We currently serve on 4 public school campuses in our community and are engaging with students from all ethnicities and backgrounds. We have teams of trained adults leaders at each ministry sites who are there to facilitate conversation and dig into students lives.

We host small groups at each of these sites where the students get to share what is important to them. We also provide building times for students where they are offered a fun alternative to traditional teen activities. These building times consist of actives like beach days, dodge-ball, crud wars, and movie nights. We are also blessed to be able to host appointments where we meet one on one with students to have more personal conversations to earn their respect and trust. So much of what we do just leans on the fact that we are there to listen to them and really hear what they are saying.

We have built up quality programs for students after school and during lunch for the past 16 years. We are so excited about our reach and the ripple effect it has had on the community. We also are looking toward the future and are excited about the prospect of being in all 10 public high schools and middle schools in the county. The step for this year is to pilot an after school club for one of our ministry sites. We expect to start after school ministry as well as lunch programming in January of 2019.
