Community Outreach

Community Outreach Programs in Drug Awareness. YOU hosts and leads information events throughout Westmoreland County to educate parents and students about drug addictions. Local law enforcement officers, leaders of YOU and community members who have battled with addiction lead the events to present to all attendee's a realistic and uplifting message about conquering addiction.

YOU will be contacted by organizations or parents/loved ones of people experiencing the negative effects of addiction for help and support. Members of the YOU team will assist with counseling connections, medical intervention, social service help and spiritual guidance.

Each Thursday evening YOU hosts a support meeting/ meal / fellowship where people can come together to receive support/direction and resources in the area of addiction along with a free meal and fellowship sharing options. YOU provides recovery support, educational support and spiritual guidance to young people facing the ongoing challenges of addiction.

Y.O.U. offers spiritual support to our recovering addicts in the way of a prayer meeting were they can receive prayer and encouraging support to face the everyday challenge of battling drug and alcohol addiction.

Y.O.U. offers support to the local school in way of speaking engagements along with reaching the student. A lot of the alcohol and drug use among high school students happen during the football/basketball games. We go in and encourage the students to take the Big Joe Challenge. Challenging them to come to the game drug and alcohol free on the honors system in turn the receive a free tee shirt, free admission, gift cards thrown in the stands and free pizza and drink following the game. Educating the student that you can have fun with out the drugs and alcohol.
