Whole Girl Workout

Our award-winning program, The Whole Girl Workout, is a running club that’s so much more, where girls learn to harness their inner strength to face the world. Girls, aged 9-15, participate in weekly running and conditioning workouts followed by group discussions and journaling. The combination of running followed by self-reflection and sharing helps girls use words and not violence, determine safe and unsafe situations, get support and avoid isolation, understand emotions and coping, respond and not act impulsively. We meet every girl "where she is" to build emotional intelligence and confidence for a lifetime of fulfilling relationships, growth and experiences. Though some of our most important work happens when we lace up at practice, it doesn’t stop there. Building an evidence-based program and studying the impact of participation on girls and their families is how we extend the reach of our impact through publishing, public policy and advocacy.
