AMERICAN LEGION POST 1758 MANNY BACON

Hopewell Junction, NY   |  https://al-ny1758.org

Mission

In 1919, The American Legion was founded on four pillars: Veterans Affairs & Rehabilitation, National Security, Americanism, and Children & Youth. Each of these pillars encompasses a variety of programs that benefit our nation's veterans, its service members, their families, the youth of America and ordinary citizens.

Our small, but growing, post was founded in 1949, named after Charles "Manny" Bacon a citizen soldier from East Fishkill, New York, that was killed in action in North Africa during WWII. Members of our post are all war time veteran volunteers that each year volunteer thousands of hours in support of our local community, veterans and the youth of our community. The post provides support to the local Castle Point Veterans Hospital food bank and clothing store.

Notes from the nonprofit
