Kids on Track
The goal of the Kids on Track initiative is to ensure all children ins Chemung and Steuben counties are reading proficiently by the end of third grade. UWST is working with community partners to address the barriers to this objective: school readiness, summer learning loss and chronic absenteeism.
Southern Tier Senior Support Network
Southern Tier Senior Support Network focuses on:
* Fostering independence by helping senior citizens age safely in their homes as long as they are able
* Addressing social isolation and loneliness
* Providing nutritional programs such as home-delivered meals and congregate meal sites
* Ensuring seniors have access to transportation services
* Expanding home health care services and offering assistance with the activities of daily living
Southern Tier Basic Needs Network
Southern Tier Basic Needs Network focuses on:
* Ensuring the basics of food, clothing and shelter are met, including crisis housing and utility assistance
* Growing healthier communities by increasing access to healthcare and health insurance
* Increasing safety for individuals who have experienced domestic violence
* Building income stability for families and individuals through financial counseling and asset-building tools
