What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Women of Style, Spirit and Success, Inc. operates initiatives that directly and indirectly address barriers to women's professional achievement.
Our mission acknowledges the fact that often external factors must be addressed before women are able to focus on things that will ensure their success. Therefore, our first initiative, our Pink Power Projects, are designed to enable a wide range of issues to be addressed - including problems with children, health, home management, etc.
We provide the organizational umbrella and support to these women-led projects to ensure their success in becoming part of our "holistic system of support."
Our second initiative is our Successful Seeds Program. Through this program, women who are starting businesses are given free or reduced-cost business services. Our focus is on the use of technology to expand markets and increase profit margins for women operating micro-enterprises.
The third initiative, the Women of Style, Spirit and Success E-magazine, provides information, resources and inspiration to help keep women on their journey towards success.
Successful Seeds Program
Through our Successful Seeds Program women operating small businesses are given assistance with developing a professional image for their company and with marketing their products and services. They are taught how to use technology to expand their borders and customer base and increase their sales and profits.
Girls Getting Wired
Girls Getting Wired is a technology initiative. Under the program participating Best Buy retail stores open their doors on Saturday mornings to offer women and girls training on how to operate computers and other devices essential to the way we work and live.
The F.F.E.W. (Fashion's Future Entrepreneurial Women)
The F.F.E.W. uses a young girl's interest in fashion to increase her interest in and knowledge of technology. Participants learn how to create fashionable garments using an age-appropriate Computer Assisted Design software. They also use graphic software and other programs throughout the program to create presentations and reports. Field trips expose them to the various connected industries such as agriculture and engineering. The program is designed to increase awareness of possible future careers in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).
