Pratidhwani's mission is to promote South Asian performing arts by empowering performing artists of South Asian descent. We do this by creating performing opportunities through Pratidhwani's productions and co-productions with other arts groups in the Seattle area.

2023 at a Glance

Pratidhwani is celebrating its 20th anniversary year in 2023!! We launched the season with a world premiere production of Jim Moran's new play 'Refugees in the Garden City', co-produced with ReAct Theatre.

In August, Pratidhwani produced a Hindi play 'Ballabhpur Ki Roopkatha'. Unfortunately some of the cast/crew succumbed to Covid (wait... this is still happening?)... and we had to cancel half the performances. :-( We hope to bring Ballabhpur back for a limited engagement in 2024.

And finally, why do just two shows a year, when you can do three!? Aarti Tiwari and Divya Rajan - both Seattle residents and artists were joined by Priyanka Shetty from Philly for 'Thrice! - Solo Performances by Three Indian Women'.

On the classical music front, Pratidhwani presented two concerts this year - Samvaad: Hindustani Violin by Indradeep Ghosh and Bhaav Rang: Hindustani Vocal by Pandit Raghunandan Panshikar.
