Mission

OMF’s mission is to accelerate and enhance scientific research, advocacy, and awareness of ocular melanoma and to provide education and support to patients, their families, and healthcare professionals. For patient and their loved ones, OMF aspires to be the top destination for up-to-date OM-related educational information, a meeting place, and advocacy resource. For doctors and researchers, OMF strives to be the connective tissue, facilitating interdisciplinary cancer research. The goal of OMF is to have clearer paths to effective treatments for ocular melanoma and, one day, a cure.

Provide awareness of the importance of dilated eye exams yearly to find Ocular Melanoma as soon as possible. Fund Research to find a cure for Ocular Melanoma. Provide much needed funding for qualifying OM patients who need travel assistance and/or an eye prosthesis.

Travel Assistance Grant Program

Help those in need of traveling for care due to Ocular Melanoma. Certain documentation and criteria needs to be met to qualify.
Application online must be completed to begin the process.

For those needing a prosthetic eye due to Ocular Melanoma can get assistance through OMF. Certain criteria and documentation is required as well as completion of an online application.

As of September 1, 2020, OMF will pay for patients and their family members to get free dilated eye exams at the provider of their choice.
