Dell Children's Blood & Cancer Center
The Children's Blood & Cancer Center (CBCC) at Dell Children's is a healing place for children and their families in need of highly advanced care for pediatric cancers and blood disorders. The CBCC offers patients a wide variety of treatment options designed by the international research collaborative Children's Oncology Group.
Pediatric Behavioral Health and Mental Health
The Grace Grego Maxwell Mental Health Unit at Dell Children’s provides compassionate, personalized behavioral and mental health services for children and their families. Our Ascension care teams at Dell Children’s partner with your family to provide the support and guidance when and where your child needs it. Our unit gives children in Central Texas access to the most comprehensive healthcare services all under one roof. Our one-of-a-kind care treats your child’s mind, body and spirit. The Grace Grego Maxwell Mental Health Unit provides care for patients ages 6-17 who may be in crisis due to mental health concerns. Treatment takes place in our 24-bed inpatient hospital and brings children and adolescents back to a level of safety and stability so they can return home as quickly as possible. Our interdisciplinary treatment team provides immediate evaluation, 24-hour nursing and psychiatric care, medication as needed and a plan for future outpatient treatment.
Texas Center for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Disease
TCPCHD is a clinical partnership between Dell Children’s Medical Center and UT Health Austin, the clinical practice of the Dell Medical School at The University of Texas at Austin. The Texas Center for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Disease, housed at Dell Children’s Medical Center, diagnoses, treats, and manages the care of children and adults with heart diseases and defects, including aortic coarctation, congenital heart disease, heart failure, pulmonary atresia, pulmonary valve stenosis, single ventricle defects, ventricular septal defects, and more. Led by Chief of Pediatric and Congenital Heart Surgery Charles Fraser, Jr., MD, who has been part of some of the finest institutions in medicine, our team provides a multifaceted continuum of care, coordinating patient care with referring physicians and other care team members to ensure patients receive the highest level of specialized care and experience a seamless transition to adult congenital cardiac care.
Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center
As the only Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center in Central Texas and backed by the largest medical staff of pediatric specialty doctors in the region, the Emergency Center at Dell Children’s Medical Center offers comprehensive care to kids 24/7 and is ready for any emergency, simple to complex. Staffed by board-certified emergency medicine physicians, nurses and support staff with special training and experience in pediatric emergency care, Dell Children’s provides expert treatment in a kid-friendly environment and takes a family-centered approach to keep our young patients comfortable during the stress of injury or illness.
And now, with additional hospital locations offering Dell Children’s Emergency Care and our online ER scheduling service, it’s never been more convenient to access humancare for your little human when an emergency strikes.
Child Abuse Resources and Education (CARE) Team
Dell Children’s provides services for a broad spectrum of child abuse and maltreatment concerns, including physical abuse, sexual abuse, medical child abuse and various types of neglect. Our ultimate goal is maximize the safety and health of children in the communities we serve. We work with a variety of partners in the community to ensure that child maltreatment is identified and managed appropriately.
UT Health Austin Pediatric Neurosciences at Dell Children’s
UT Health Austin Pediatric Neurosciences at Dell Children’s is a clinical partnership between Dell Children’s Medical Center and UT Health Austin, the clinical practice of the Dell Medical School at The University of Texas at Austin. UT Health Austin Pediatric Neurosciences at Dell Children’s diagnoses, treats, and manages the care of children and adolescents with medical conditions of the central nervous system, including epilepsy, cerebral palsy, neuromuscular diseases, congenital abnormalities, movement disorders, headaches, genetic conditions, neurodevelopmental disorders, brain tumors, and acquired brain injuries, such as head injuries, neurological infections, and strokes. As a leading neurosciences program in Central Texas, our comprehensive care approach prioritizes family-centered treatment, collaboration among a variety of specialists, and inter-institutional partnerships.
Comprehensive Epilepsy Center (Level IV)
Dell Children’s Comprehensive Epilepsy Center at Dell Children’s Medical Center is committed to a child and family centered approach and includes all members of the care team when evaluating, diagnosing, managing and treating children with seizures and epilepsy.
Our goal is to improve the quality of life for kids with seizures and epilepsy, along with their families. As the only comprehensive children’s epilepsy center in Central Texas, we serve the entire Central Texas region as well as those children from surrounding states needing advanced care. The education, services and treatment options we provided are designed to help reduce or eliminate a child’s seizure burden.
