What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
The Pink Tea
The Pink Tea is the organization's signature event. It is held annually in October which is Breast Cancer Awareness month. This year will be the 19th Pink Tea and we are expecting over 650 attendees consisting of survivors, relatives and friends. It is a time of community support for survivors, recognition support for survivors, awareness, and education about early detection and prevention of breast cancer. Each year the organization produces a calendar which is unveiled during the Pink Tea. The Calendar features a different survivor each month with a personal account of her journey with breast cancer.
Mother daughter
The Mother Daughter Scholarship Brunch is our event where families are encouraged to share their health history amongst the generations as well as promote self-advocacy to women under 40, the age, which is recommended for your baseline mammograms
Calendar
One of the organization’s greatest contributions in the support of women with breast cancer is the Sisters’ Journey Annual Calendar. This is a twelve month calendar that highlights the faces and stories of struggles to triumphs of breast cancer survivors. The calendar proves to be a tangible means of encouragement, support and vision to all that might be facing the challenge of the fight against breast cancer. Each page of the calendar is graced with women that are winners and warriors in their personal journey with cancer.
