Annual Artistic Season

Seraphic Fire’s 15th Anniversary Season (2016-17) consisted of 44 concert performances, partnerships with The Cleveland Orchestra in Miami and Cleveland, and an excess of the previous seasons 12,000+ attendees across South Florida and on tour. SF commissioned 9 new works that were performed throughout the season thanks to generous support from Knight Foundation. Featured guest artists included Matthew Albert (violinist), Nathan Laube (organist), Alvaro Bermudez (guitar), and Jennifer Johnson Cano, (mezzo-soprano), as well as guest conductors James K. Bass and Elena Sharkova. The partnership between SFYI and the Miami-Dade County Public School System expanded to include a new, weekly music education program in one underserved school, led by a University of Miami graduate music education student and SF’s education administrator. Two district-wide SF concerts benefited about 1,800 students, but with the addition of the weekly instruction, the depth of impact to 200 of those students exponentially increased.
