GUARDIANS FOR ANIMALS

aka GFA   |   Troy, MI   |  www.guardiansforanimals.org

Mission

To aid NO KILL rescue groups in need with emergency medical, spay/neuter, funding, supplies and food, networking support, education and animal placement through our partnership with PETCO and other adoption venue. Please note when reviewing our financials that we are in the business of supporting our affiliates and our "expenses" are actually reflecting our donations to those in need.

Notes from the nonprofit

GFA helps to create and support high quality NO-kill rescue organizations by donating emergency medical, spay/neutering, food and supplies, microchipping, as well as adoption venues and fundraising. Our 13 affiliate partners focus on saving death row shelter animals. Last year GFA helped our affiliates to help save in total over 3,200 animals that otherwise wound have been destroyed. Over 29,000 animals have been saved since be began in Feb 2004.

Our Annual GFA Pet Adoption Expo Oct Event helps rescues find forever homes for animals in their care, provides $10 micro chipping free to Military and First Responder family pets, ($10 to the general public) and strengthen the animal/human bond. www.guardiansforanimals.org

What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Stuffed Animal Adoption Program

GFA believes that  if children learn about animals at a young age, they grow up to be compassionate adults who care about their communities and our planet. They understand that we share our planet with our animal companions. This program allows children to learn about different species and their habitats and how they can help. they are the future!

Population(s) Served

We have special events through out the year where pet owners can have their dogs and cats micro chipped for only $10. This is a high quality chip with no annual fees.
If every animal were to receive a chip, the number of 'death row' shelter animals would drop substancially.
