Program 1

Partnered with the City of Atlanta Department of Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Affairs and other partners to provide environmental education and health and wellness programming at the Outdoor Activity Center, Cascade Springs Nature Preserve, the Lionel Hampton-Beecher Hills Preserve, and other West Atlanta greenspaces to engage more than 10,000 people in hands-on, and virtual environmental education, urban agriculture, outdoor physical activity, service learning and environmental training workshops.

Contributed to the expansion of the Proctor Creek Urban Waters Federal Partnership through strengthening the Proctor Creek Stewardship Council, delivering watershed-based environmental education to youth and adults in the watershed, and leading creek clean-up and invasive plant removal stewardship activities. We also co-facilitated the Proctor Creek Trash Free Waters Program,led the Proctor Creek youth education initiative,and established a Proctor Creek Green Team.

Grew our community science initiative to include the City Nature Challenge, Urban BioBlitz, Adopt-A-Stream, and Westside River Rendezvous. Through these collective programs, West Atlanta residents and volunteers monitored water quality in over 60 locations in the Proctor, Utoy, and Sandy Creek Watersheds, and conducted biodiversity counts on over 400 acres of greenspace in West Atlanta.
