Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Conversation Partner Program
One of the International Cultural Exchange's major programs is the "Conversation Partner Program". This program matches international students with a native English speaker from the community. The English speaker and students meet regularly for language practice but also to share events and activities that promotes friendship building and cultural understanding
ICX Community Events
This program creates opportunities for international students, ESOL students and first generation immigrants to meet and interact with people in the local community. Every month ICX organizes an event/activity that functions as a natural meeting place where friendships are built, and different cultures are shared and celebrated. These events provide an important opportunity to learn more about Americans and America. The events can include celebrations of international and American holidays, sporting events, and local community events.

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
There are two simple goals of the International Cultural Exchange: help and learn.
For every international student that is attending college in our area, we will provide help to them establishing themselves in our community and to make their stay safe and enjoyable.
For every one of our volunteers, we will provide an opportunity to learn about the culture and lives of those international students.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
Our current strategies are also clear and simple. First, we partner with the local colleges to help them help their new students. In this way, the college benefits from having local families involved in creating a safe and enjoyable experience for their students. Second, we conduct events in local homes that provide a vehicle for students to interact with local families.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
We have a well developed network of volunteers, families, and former international students. They all recognize the impact of the International Cultural Exchange and provide support for the next wave of students.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
We have been able to meet with each batch of international students arriving at the local college for the past 10 years. We have yet to be able to find a way to meet them as they arrive at the airport. The local college does not have this information since students are on their own to find their way to the school and to arrange housing.
