ARISE CHICAGO

A subset of the Worker Center is the Domestic Worker Organizing Committee. Arise offers workforce development trainings in Nanny/Infant and Child Development, Green Cleaning, and CPR/First Aid, and whose curriculum was developed in partnership with the University of Illinois at Chicago School of Public Health. These trainings act as a point of first contact for domestic workers with Arise Chicago, and also contain Workers Rights curriculum.
The Domestic Worker program also includes monthly meetings specifically for domestic workers for ongoing training, time for community-building, updates and action for workplace and policy campaigns.

Arise Chicago organizes low-wage workers to take action for public policy change. After workers take action to improve their own workplaces, they go on to lead campaigns to improve policies for all workers, at the city, county, and state levels.
