What we aim to solve
According to the U.S. government website called Youth.gov, it is crucial to provide opportunities to intervene and prevent the onset of antisocial behaviors and justice system involvement early in young people’s lives. Also, research increasingly shows the more effective way to stop the “cradle to prison pipeline” is sooner rather than later. The early intervention of this TYDF Voice2Youth™ program discourages delinquent behavior by supporting the development of young people’s imaginations and talents.

Voice2Youth™
Voice2Youth™ is our award-winning program aligned with Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) guidelines and focused on building young students' confidence, compassion, literacy, and leadership through the arts, poetry, storytelling, and media. We deliver these life-enhancing opportunities through partnerships with schools, libraries, and other youth organizations via in-person and virtual activities.

We have 15-plus years of experience providing enrichment for disadvantaged youth through our ongoing arts and literacy-focused activities. Our award-winning Voice2Youth™ program has been successfully implemented in 30 North Texas public schools.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
Our Impact
7,500 students gained 3,500 additional educational instruction hours during in-school and after-school times.
Vibrant writing opportunities – We’ve published 8 anthology books of original poems written by children in 3rd through 12th.
95% of our program participants improve their vocabulary, reading comprehension, and creative writing skills.

- We review compensation data across the organization (and by staff levels) to identify disparities by race.
