MEXICAN FOUNDATION FOR TECHNOLOGY IN EDUCATION
Bridging The Education Gap With Technology
Programs and results
What we aim to solve
Why we do what we do?
- 1 of 2 mexican children has lag in his educational development
- 8 out of every 10 indigenous children have an inadequate level of learning.
- Mexican teachers are outdated since their initial training.
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
School Strengthening Program
We support the work of UNETE throughout Mexico. Our fundraising efforts in the United States and globally directly fund the programs in schools all over the country.
These programs empower teachers through the integration of technology in their classrooms. This takes place through the support of a facilitator who is present in the school for one full academic school year.
Technological Infrastructure
This program develops the digital skills of teachers and students by equipping media labs with technology devices, providing access to digital educational content, advice and technical support.
Connecting Education with the Future
This UNETE program invites teachers and managers to apply for a training scholarship and a certification to demonstrate competence in educational technology through the Educator N1 certification from Google for Education.
A teacher certified in digital skills has a greater opportunity to impact the learning of their students, since they are able to use technology as a tool to guide pedagogical activities in less time and with educational impact.
Our program seeks to train teachers and managers in the use and application of Google for education tools in the teaching-learning process through the exploration of basic aspects and sample tests that allow the development of digital skills and prepare them for the certification test.

- We disaggregate data to adjust programming goals to keep pace with changing needs of the communities we support.
- We employ non-traditional ways of gathering feedback on programs and trainings, which may include interviews, roundtables, and external reviews with/by community stakeholders.
- We engage everyone, from the board to staff levels of the organization, in race equity work and ensure that individuals understand their roles in creating culture such that one’s race identity has no influence on how they fare within the organization.
