What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Hands Only CPR class
Training the layperson
can increase the survivability
of cardiac arrest in public and at
home. The SDHC Foundation
provides Hands-Only CPR training
free to the public.
Continued Education for Healthcare Providers
Education is not only important or our patients but also our
health care partners in the community. We offer continuing
education seminars to provide information on new and existing
treatments and techniques in cardiovascular care.
Wellness & Lifestyle Classes
Education plays an
important role for cardiac patients, as well as members of the community. We provide classes on heart-healthy lifestyles to benefit health and well being. The foundation provides the funding which allows us to provide these classes free of charge to the public. See our calendar for class dates and times.
Provides AED's
AED’s are a lightweight battery-operated, portable device that can be a critical early life-saving piece of equipment that does not require any training. When applied to the chest, this device is an intelligent machine that can evaluate and determine a lethal heart rhythm that has caused a cardiac arrest and correct the abnormal rhythm with an electrical shock. When an AED is used during a cardiac arrest in conjunction with CPR, it can increase the cardiac arrest survival rate by 40-70%.
