RIVERSIDE COUNTY FOUNDATION ON AGING INC

Working to ensure every older adult in Riverside County has the opportunity to age with dignity, respect, and independence.

Moreno Valley, CA   |  www.foaging.com

Mission

The mission and purpose of the Foundation on Aging of Riverside County is to support and further the work of the Riverside County Office on Aging and the Office, and to support new and innovative programs and activities that sustain and enhance the quality of life of older adults in Riverside County. Our goal is to ensure that all older adults in Riverside County have the opportunity to age with dignity, respect, and independence.

Notes from the nonprofit

As of 2024, the US Census Bureau, estimates there are approximately 500,000 older adults residing in Riverside. Between 2020 and 2060, that number is projected to increase by 50%. In addition, two 2023 countywide surveys revealed that almost 50% of older adults live at or below the Federal Poverty Level ($18,500); two in ten must choose between buying food and paying other bills; and 58% have chronic health conditions. Since 2004, the Riverside County Foundation has worked to raise awareness of the needs of seniors in Riverside County and to raise funds to help fill gaps created by decreasing public funding of services for the elderly though the older adult population continues to increase. The Foundation works to establish public-private partnerships to leverage existing resources and to develop new and innovative solutions to meet the needs of older adults--especially those underserved and vulnerable.
