Mission

The Kristy Lasch Miracle Foundation was established in 2005 in memory of our daughter Kristy, who was diagnosed with breast cancer when she was only twenty-two years old. During treatment, the cost associated with having cancer became a burden and she envisioned establishing a foundation to help younger breast cancer patients like her.

After a valiant struggle, she left us on October 3, 2004, at the age of twenty-six. Due to this very reason, we were determined to fulfill her dream by establishing the Kristy Lasch Miracle Foundation in her honor and are helping young women under the age of thirty, living with breast cancer, with their medical-related expenses.

The Kristy Lasch Miracle Foundation is committed to providing financial assistance to women under 30 living with breast cancer. Our vision is to create a world in which our current services are no longer necessary.

What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Breast Cancer Treatment Medical Assistance

We receive an increasing number of request (to date in 2015 we have received 21 requests) ranging from $500 to $25,000 to cover cancer treatment medical expenses. All proceeds from the fundraising events held is made available to fill these requests. Unfortunately the requests have always exceeded the funds and we are not able to meet the needs either in full or at all for all requests. As our organization is currently fully funded via fundraising events and donations, we never know what the proceeds will be so creating a budget is not feasible. Minimal office expenses are covered with other individual donations.

Goals & Strategy

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

Our goal is to be able to provide assistance to all women living with breast cancer. So many women over 30 contact us, but right now we are just not large enough to handle all the requests. To reach these goals, we need corporate sponsors. The wonderful individual sponsors and attendees of our events have made it possible for us to help 104 young women. The first year, we were only able to help one girl. To date we have helped these 104 young women with financial assistance totaling over $186,000.

We are seeking corporate sponsorships and larger fundraising opportunities to fund as many women as possible not only in our current demographic of young women under 30 but to be able to assist women of all ages suffering with breast cancer.

We are currently small with the two founders as full time non-paid advocates, as well as numerous volunteers providing time as possible to fundraise via individual donations. We are now mobilizing to create a team of volunteers who will investigate the possibility of corporate sponsorships.

Through local individual sponsors, a handful of business donations and a bevy of donations through our annual Oldies Dance events, we have been able to help 104 women over the past 10 years with a total of $186,000 in funds dispersed.
