What we aim to solve
One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime, and men can also develop breast cancer. The experience is profoundly life altering both physically and emotionally, the medical interventions can be arduous, and the journey is often long. While loved ones, caregivers, and healthcare professionals often provide meaningful support, no one can understand the experience and support the journey with more insight than others who are or have experienced breast cancer themselves. This type of peer support and connection is at the heart of Carolina Breast Friend' mission. Carolina Breast Friends works to strengthen the well being of women and men with breast cancer. Breast cancer survivors at any point in their journey will find community and activities at Carolina Breast Friends' Pink House to help them rise stronger.
