The Shift Experience
BigShifts Foundation partners with nonprofits and corporations to integrate the Quadrants of Wellbeing (Mechanical, Chemical, Energetic, Psychospiritual) framework into their youth programs.
The fundamental principle of the framework is “balance” defined as harmony. Harmony is flow. With this mental model, people begin to understand that it’s not all about exercising OR eating clean OR maintaining a spiritual practice OR being attune to the energy around us. It’s about the AND.
Being healthy and staying well takes more than being diligent in one area. By practicing the Quadrants of Wellbeing, people empower themselves to put the odds in their favor to live optimally by:
- Raising awareness that what our culture influences people to do is not always good for them.
- Sharing age-appropriate tools to create mindfulness around what we put in our bodies and how we care for our bodies.
- Providing resources to care for our mental and physical selves by encouraging authenticity.
