Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Successful Living Seminars
Education changes everything. That’s why, here at SonBridge, we want to give everyone a chance to learn even the most basic of skills.
Throughout the year, different sets of classes are offered each quarter. These classes range from English as a Second Language to Healthy Living. Each class in our Successful Living Seminars is taught by volunteers of the community dedicated to making education available to our community.
Most of our classes are free of cost. Assistance is available for the few classes that are not free.
SonBridge Dental Clinic
The SonBridge Dental Clinic is a non-profit facility committed to resolving the unmet dental needs for all people in the Walla Walla Valley. We serve patients both as a free clinic and as a Provider One Apple Health Clinic. We also offer a Cash Supplemental Fee Scale to serve Medicare clients at the Medicaid income level by offering them services at Medicaid rates.
SonBridge Thrift & Gift Store
The SonBridge Thrift & Gift Store provides clothing, household goods, furniture, and unique finds. Every dollar spent at the Thrift & Gift Store assists in supporting the services and operations of SonBridge. The Thrift & Gift also partners with Helpline to provide clothes, furniture, and other items for those in need.
Health Education Resource Fairs
The Education Center for Better Living has tripled the space we have available to serve our community members. Based on recent surveys, our community has asked for more classes focused on Diabetes and pre-Diabetes, in areas of treatment, management, and prevention. In response,, SonBridge Community Center will be able to regularly facilitate Health Resource Fairs. Playing out as quarterly events beginning in the summer of 2018, these Health Resource Fairs will broaden the scope of our Successful Living Seminars. SonBridge will organize, in conjunction with local medical professionals and medical services, three focused, one-day resource fairs, with an additional multi-day event known as the Walla Walla Health EXPO. The three smaller resource fairs will focus on three of the most common illnesses found in Americans. This year’s events will each specialize in one of the following: Heart Disease, Alzheimer’s Disease, and Diabetes. The Health EXPO will be equipped with a wider range of information dealing with health management and illness prevention.
Family Assistance Program
Helping low-income community members with rent and utilities assistance as well as clothing vouchers.
