Program 1

During the past year, the Annapolis Coalition has continued its work in the public interest to strengthen the nation's behavioral health workforce. The Coalition is addressing the crisis in recruitment and retention of mental health and substance use disorder professionals by offering learning collaboratives on recruitment and retention. Within the past year, these learning collaboratives have been conducted and completed in Ohio, Pennsylvania and Washington, DC. Participating agencies have received from the Coalition education on recruitment and retention best practices and technical assistance in devising and implementing their own recruitment and retention plans. On behalf of the nationwide Mental Health Technology Transfer Center Network, the Coalition completed work on a mixed-methods review to identify best practices in conducting effective behavioral health learning collaboratives. The Coalition also facilitated the adaptation of the Alaska Core Competencies by the State of North Dakota, Division of Behavioral Health.
