Creative Healing for Youth in Pain
conquering chronic pain
Programs and results
What we aim to solve
1 of 4 adolescents suffer from chronic pain. 70% of those affected will suffer from chronic pain into adulthood if untreated. Chronic pain contributes to increased isolation, anxiety, depression and school absenteeism. CHYP delivers non-clinical interventions scientifically proven to empower youth to rewire the brain through creative experiences, interrupting the sticky neural loop responsible for chronic pain. Utilizing a fully online platform, services are accessed without the barriers of geographic location, time schedules, cost or lengthy wait times for clinic appointments.

What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
Modern science has shown strengthening the mind/body connection plus social support (aka the biopsychosocial model) are the tools needed to change chronic pain. Utilizing this model, CHYP serves adolescents and young adults aged 13-24 who are dealing with chronic pain stemming from a variety of conditions and/or illnesses without regard to race, religion, color, national origin, gender or sex. Through a series of on-demand and live web-based including monthly webinars, summer camp, creative healing experiences, and peer community/connection opportunities monitored by licensed psychologists, CHYP is able to empower youth to "unstick" their sticky neural loop and navigate pain via scientifically proven, non-clinical interventions. CHYP also curates resources and programming for the parents and caregivers of our target population to strengthen the support base for youth coping with chronic pain. 100% of our programs are free to participants.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
Increasing outreach through marketing, collaboration with doctors and other 501(c)3 organizations, social media presence and word of mouth.
Diversifying revenue streams to support growth and programs
Capturing additional metrics to illustrate impact and fine tune programming to meet the needs of our populations served.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
With a committed Board of Directors, increased networking, a new website and improved operational systems current programming. which has proven to be effective, can be scaled to reach more youths and their families multiplied by an increased presence in the digital space.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
We have been experiencing steady growth since 2019, and expect this trend to continue, especially with increased marketing efforts and a better web design for delivery.
