Programs and results
What we aim to solve
Around the world, more than 15 million children have lost both parents. Sadly, we have more abused and neglected children than we have families willing to serve them. With no voice and no safe relationships, vulnerable children grown into adults that will repeat the cycle of neglect and abuse.
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Journey of Hope Host Programs
Older orphans are often labeled “unadoptable.” Every year thousands age out and become ineligible for adoption never having known a normal and loving family life. The good news is that you can help make a lasting impact on an orphan’s life through hosting, possibly even changing their lives forever! Hosting provides older orphans with hope for their futures and the chance to experience life in a family.
Gifts of Love
Gifts of Love offers tangible ways to support and encourage children living in orphanages.
Missions
Each year, we send teams to work with our partners in Latin America.
Forever Families + Building Stronger Families
Created to promote fellowship and support between adoptive families and to be a resource for families considering adoption.
Waiting Children Advocacy
We continue to advocate for children that have passed through our Journey of Hope host programs, but did not find families. Waiting Children is a password-protected page on our website
Adoption Grant/Loan Program
Our Adoption Grant/Loan program is available for Christian families in Texas that are adopting Waiting Children. Our Interest-Free Loan Program helps families take full advantage of the government's adoption tax credit.

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
Here I Am Orphan Ministries serves vulnerable children in the following ways:
- Advocate for a child's adoption through story-telling, host programs, family outreach, and mission trips
- Raise funds to help families offset some of the costs of hosting and adoption
- Support forever families through ongoing education, training, and fellowship events
- Visit and encourage children living in orphanages, loving and meeting physical needs for those that may not have the chance to be adopted into a loving forever family
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
We specifically advocate for Waiting Children - older children, sibling groups, and those with special and medical needs. These are children that need to have their stories told in order for a family to connect with them. We advocate for Waiting Children through host programs, church and family outreach, and our private Waiting Children page.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
Each person on our Board of Directors and Staff is uniquely passionate about orphan care. We also collaborate with local and international partners in order to serve vulnerable children better.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
Here I Am Orphan Ministries is excited to be celebrating 15 years of serving orphans in 2020! Since HIAOM launched in 2005 we have
• helped 194 children go home to their forever families
• awarded 79 grants to short-term host families
