What we aim to solve

SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

The main problem that Care Net of Santa Fe solves is that many women lack the information and resources to make informed decisions regarding family, child-bearing, and life choices. We provide that guidance and information in a safe and loving environment.

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

Expand our reach and visibility to abortion-minded men, women and teenagers in the Santa Fe greater area and reduce the number of abortions taking place in this area. Also to help post-abortive men and women who, heretofore, have been living in silent shame and pain.

All of our outreach is meant to encourage a culture of life in the Santa Fe area.
*Develop and launch a new client website that specifically targets abortion-minded teenagers, women and men by working with Vitae Foundation and using their right-brain research to tailor the message.
*Open a Care Net satellite office in Espanola, NM in 2017
*Hire Administrative Assistant
*Extend hours to 25/week (from current 15/week) to meet demand
*Add eight new volunteers to meet demand
*Expand Santa Fe Center office space to allow for more counseling rooms
*Strengthen and expand relationships with churches in the Santa Fe area through our Pastor Alliance program.
*Train a Life Disciple/Church Liaison in every church in Santa Fe area to reach those who may be considering an abortion.
*Actively promote our Post-Abortion Recovery program.

We have been blessed to have a 30-year marketing professional, Kathy Krekel, join us as a committed volunteer to spearhead our Community Outreach program. Ms Krekel is expanding our social media presence to increase visibility and attract additional donors (particularly Millenials). She has implement a new donor management (CRM) tracking program to track major giving, annual giving, planned giving, events, sponsors and supporters.

Our Board of Directors is an active working Board comprised a business management professional (Jim McCraigh), a practicing attorney (Ben Allison), a marketing professional (Kathy Krekel), a social worker (Dominique Delgado), and a CPA (Alma Amador). Our Executive Director (Roberta Cheek), who has been running the Center for eight years, is also part of the Board.

In terms of opening a satellite office in Espanola, we have a new volunteer who lives in Espanola and is expressly interested in heading up the Espanola Care Net. We have located a possible site, and are developing a budget and beginning fund raising efforts.

Through our Pastor Alliance program and bi-monthly speaking engagements in local churches, we are increasing awareness of the need for churches to reach those considering abortion and those who are.

Staff is currently being trained to facilitate Making Life Disciples classes.
