What we aim to solve

SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

Support and resources for families battling pediatric cancers are severely lacking. There are a lot of organizations supporting research into pediatric cancers, but few that offer families and hospitals the assistance they need to get through a child's battle with cancer right now! Nearly half of families are forced to file for bankruptcy when their child has cancer, as much due to the decreased income (due to the difficulty of holding a full-time job when your child needs your support full-time) as the increase in expenses, whether medical or travel. Go4theGoal provides these families with the support they require to get through their battle today with as much dignity and normalcy as possible.

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

While our ultimate goal is ending childhood cancers, our immediate goals are tangible and impactive for these patients and their families. With environmental improvements, we are creating warm, updated, and entertaining spaces for these patients and their families. With patient support, we provide a 24-hour turn around so a family can focus their worries and efforts on their sick child. There is no other organization out there that does this on a consistent basis. Through our fundraising efforts across the country, we look to support patients, their families, and hospitals nationwide.

We use our 3 unique national campaigns (Lace Up 4 Pediatric Cancer, Spring Into Action 4 a Cure, and National Pediatric Cancer Awareness Day) to raise the funds needed to support patients and families across the country. In doing this, every dollar raised stays in the communities where they are raised. We clearly understand that there are children all across the country battling cancer AND that there are great hospitals and staff caring for these patients in need of our support and the support of their community.

We have build strong relationships with schools and school organizations such as DECA, National Honors Societies, student councils, as well as teacher and school organizations like the NJEA (New Jersey Education Association) and TASC (Texas Association of Student Councils). Also, through our Lace Up initiative, we have grown strong partnerships with youth leagues, high school athletics, and a very strong showing of college athletics. In 2016, we partnered with players and select teams in the MLB and MLS and are looking to expand in these leagues as well as other professional sports.

Our ultimate goal is a world without cancers. In the meantime, however, we strive at providing patients, their families, and the hospitals that serve them with the best practices in the industry.
