What we aim to solve
Access Supports for Living is a 501 c 3 that is committed to helping people live the healthiest and happiest lives possible. The Access Supports for Living Foundation financially supports the commitment of the organization- and its affiliates. Today Access and its affiliates touches more than 17,000 lives annually and provides services to people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, Behavioral Health needs, and Children and Families with a range of needs. Programs and services are person-centered and designed with the flexibility to meet each person's unique needs. Access understands their role as partners in the lives of the people we serve and work with them to identify their goals and develop a plan to achieve them. The Access: Supports for Living Foundation supports the work of Access and its affiliates- the Access Network.
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Community Counseling Centers, Mobile Mental Health
Access Supports for Living has Community Counseling Centers in the Hudson Valley that provide support for the psychological and emotional needs of adults, children, and families. Mental Health and Substance Use Urgent Care is available 888-750-2266. Psychiatrists with a variety of specialties are available to prescribe and assist in medication management; licensed therapists and Licensed Clinical Social Workers are available to provide counseling through walk in and virtual services. Access Mobile Mental Health Teams in Orange and Ulster Counties provide services for people experiencing a mental health crisis, suicidal thoughts, family crisis, anxiety, or depression anywhere in the community at no cost to them. Most recently, our teams provide mental health services to children in Rockland County. Our affiliates also provide Mental Health Services in Westchester County.
Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities - Community Living
Access Supports for Living has Community Living programs that provide housing opportunities for people with a variety of needs to live successfully as part of the community. Community Living opportunities range from homes with 24/7 support to Integrated Supported Housing and scattered site apartments across the Hudson Valley.
Children and Family Services
Access Supports for Living Children and Families Services provide supports across a range of needs from foster care services to ensuring the health and well-being of children, including educational access for children with special needs.

What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
Access works to ensure that they are a resource to the counties it supports in New York and beyond for people who live with challenges. Access promotes the inclusion of people in the community and strengthens their supports. In so doing, Access works to build a world where no one is marginalized because they are different. The Access Supports for Living Foundation is committed to helping to fill the gap in funds necessary to continue this important work.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
The Access Supports for Living Foundation supports the strategies of Access Supports for Living and its affiliates in delivering quality services to the people it serves. Access has a robust plan to guide strategic initiatives to support its programs in a world that is ever evolving. Access is inspired about changes and growth in intellectual and developmental disabilities and in behavioral health that help inform the supports necessary to assist people in living fulfilling lives- in the way they imagine for themselves.
Access maintains an ever-seeking curiosity and is inspired about new insights in the world around them to inspire and help better understand and respond to disability. The Access: Supports for Living Foundation is proud to bring this messaging to the communities we support.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
Person-centeredness will continue to permeate all aspects of Access services and extend to our improved customer engagement and experience efforts. A significant piece of this is acknowledging the role of trauma in the lives of the people we serve and the staff who provide the services. As such, Access dedicates Value Streams that support the work throughout the organization. The Access Supports for Living Foundation works to support the work of Access with an esteemed Board of Directors group.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
The Access Supports for Living Foundation works to support programs by filling financial gaps to provide services through it's system and to help fund new and emerging services. Access Supports for Living is working diligently to support people to live happy and fulfilling lives in the communities it serves. Working with our community to improve the outcomes for people throughout the region has been a focus- specifically; Access for All. Access Business Solutions provides employment opportunities that have earned recognition for excellence and commitment to helping people with meaningful job opportunities. The Access: Supports for Living Foundation helps bring forward the critical services through relationship building to meet the goals of each individual donor to support the mission of the Foundation.
