Mission
Healing Bridges works with the Kofan (A'i) people's Traditional Authority to restore their territory and cultural sovereignty, and on agricultural projects promoting food security in the Colombian Amazon. We gather with the Traditional Authorities (shamans) of five territories. Occasionally, we work with the Siona (Zio Bain) indigenous people - and other allies. Healing Bridges aims to strengthen traditional communities living in harmony with nature, and to bridge the gap with the modern world. We are guided by the principles of free, prior, and informed consent, as well as those of development with culture and identity. We will occasionally join in policy debates, especially as they relate to the green-washing of oil and gas and/or false solutions in the struggle to stop global warming.

Territorial restoration of Santa Rosa del Guamuéz Kofan Indigenous Reserve
Healing Bridges led the work that resulted in the Constitutional Court ruling which ordered the Colombian Government to restore the territorial boundaries of the Santa Rosa del Guamuéz Kofan Indigenous Reserve. Despite this ruling, the Colombian Government has not implemented it and when it has made some approaches, it has done so in a corrupt manner. Healing Bridges is working to ensure compliance, engaging a wide variety of actors at both local, national, and international arenas.
