What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Standard Responose Protocol (SRP)

The “I Love U Guys” Foundation serves the lives of students, administrators, public safety experts, families, and first responders through the development and training of school and community safety and family reunification programs. The programs have been implemented by over 40,000 schools, agencies and organizations across the United States, Canada and 11 other countries.
We are a conduit for the work and experience of administrators, psychologists, public space safety experts, families, and first responders. This collaborative work is data-driven, researched, and based on experience and best practices.
All programs are available online at no cost.

One critical aspect of crisis response is accountable reunification of students with their parents or guardians in the event of a school crisis or emergency. The Standard Reunification Method provides school and district safety teams with proven methods for planning, practicing and achieving a successful reunification.

Site-specific considerations will impact how these practices can be integrated into school and district safety plans. Successful planning and implementation also demands partnerships with all responding agencies participating in a crisis response.

Why Bother?
Crisis recovery starts with the crisis, not after. Simply "winging it" when reunifying ignores not just the mental health demands which accompany a crisis, but the responsibility of the school and the district in maintaining the chain of custody for every student. No school is immune to stuff hitting the proverbial fan. Wild land or structural fires, hazardous materials, floods, tornados, blizzards, power outages, tsunamis, bomb threats, acts of violence, acts of terror... these just begin the list of events that may initiate a reunification action for a school or district.

A predetermined, practiced reunification method ensures the reunification process will not further complicate what is probably already a chaotic, anxiety-filled scene. In fact, putting an orderly reunification plan into action will help defuse the emotion building at the site.

Implementing The Standard Reunification Method concepts and planning stages take a certain amount of time. But in the grand scheme of school safety the level of effort is modest. There will be some staff hours committed to both the planning and practicing of these concepts. There will be some cost in printing and in creating the "Go Kits" necessary for a successful reunification. Since some of these items are happening at the district level, the cost of a $300 "go kit" can be spread among all of the schools in the district.

The I Love U Guys Foundation provides the SRM materials free of cost.

Materials include:
Planning Guide;
Student/Parent Handout;
Reunification Card;
Plan Templates.

Goals & Strategy

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

PROGRAM GOALS
- Develop a curriculum for Advanced Training Certification. This certifies a person to certify other trainers in their area, and conduct drills and exercises.
- Create a Certification process for school districts. This monitors the fidelity with which they implement and maintain the programs and their own training.
- Complete template for the Standard Reunification Method - a detailed package for schools and districts to customize for their use when reuniting students with parents/guardians after any emergency situation or off-site evacuation.
- Find a way to measure efficacy of the programs

FUNDING GOALS
- Broaden our donor base
- Create a sustainable scholarship fund for the Kindness Scholarship granted to a Platte Canyon High School graduate each year
- Engage a Capital Campaign to begin fundraising and development for "15 Acres of Optimism" raw commercial property in Bailey, CO to be used for training purposes
- Seek grants which would enable us to do a level out outreach to rural communities
- Seek a $10,000.00 grant or donation to cover the cost of a new Audit
- Seek funding for translation services

EVENT GOALS
- Increase attendance at The Briefings, and deliver increasingly higher levels of training in all aspects of school safety.

PROGRAM STRATEGIES
- Advanced Training Certification is almost complete. Deliver through outreach.
- Reunification is almost complete. Field test it.
- Certification is partially complete. Outreach to schools/districts already using our programs.

We are doing this with a staff of four people which means that our processes are streamlined. We have a robust group of experts in the safety field who assist with reviewing materials prior to publishing.
Our list of contacts in the school safety and law enforcement fields is vast; we have created incredibly intelligent and valuable alliances and will maintain these relationships.

Accomplishments:
- Development and rollout of program for PreK-2 grades
- Development and rollout of program for Community Colleges
- Development and rollout of program for Businesses

In the Works:
- Translation into more languages. Currently, almost everything has been translated to Spanish. There are requests for more languages.
- Capital campaign to build a training facility
