What we aim to solve
Cancer.im Foundation is working to raise the Quality of Life (QOL) of cancer patients everywhere to lower their incidence of morbidity (death). In 2007, Dr. Nikolaou on behalf of Fox Chase Medical Center (a National Comprehensive Cancer Network) published a double blind placebo controlled study titled “Quality of Life (QOL) Supersedes the Classic Predictors of Survival in Locally Advanced Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC).” The study was designed to evaluate the role of QoL as a prediction for survival. Approximately 91% of patients completed a standardized QoL 30 question survey before treatment. The study concluded that by raising a Cancer Patient’s Quality of Life via the European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer QLQ-C30 index, one can directly lower the incidence of morbidity in a cancer patient, regardless of treatment. The mission is to help raise the Quality of Life of cancer patients everywhere, regardless of their ability to pay.

The Cancer Social Knowledge Wiki And The Pay What You Can Cancer Hospital
The Cancer.im Foundation - Together, we are the cure.
Our driving principles are based on clinical data which have shown that:
1. Cancer patients who have an active support network, outlive cancer patients who do not
2. Increasing a cancer patient’s Quality of Life (QoL), directly lowers the incidence of morbidity
The Mission
In 2008, Chris Ryan with Oncologist Dr. Mahesh Kanojia, Dr. Barkat Charania, and Dr. Kevin Buckman adapted the above referenced study into a modular 16 part best practice guide based on the Robert Ryan Cancer Protocol, with the aim of assisting cancer patients in raising their Quality of Life.
After The Knowledge Social Network Wiki
In 2017, the Cancer.im Foundation built a new kind of social network for cancer patients, advocates, and volunteers to leverage the technology of the social utility and identify the mechanism of spontaneous cancer remission, a rare occurrence that happens in 1 out of 100,000 advanced stage cancer patients through the participants sharing their knowledge. Members can connect to other people affected by cancer, organize personal and professional resources available to them, research the qualitative and quantitative aspects of cancer, and create a customized strategy for beating or preventing the disease.
The Pay What You Can Cancer Hospital
In 2020, the Cancer.im Foundation is spearheading a new initiative to build the first 181 unit “Pay What You Can” Cancer Hospital in Baja California, Mexico. For many years Mexico has been a known haven for cancer treatment centers. The new Pay What You Can Hospital will reside on a beautiful 136 acre property by the ocean, where connecting with nature heals the soul, positively raising the quality of life index for cancer patients, regardless of their ability to pay.
In 2020, 1.8 million new cancer cases are estimated to be diagnosed in the United States and 606,520 people are expected to die. Cancer accounts for 1 in every 4 deaths, second only to heart disease, the most common cause of death. Yet the monetary cost, projected to exceed $206 billion in 2020, is secondary to the impact of the loss of life for families, friends, and loved ones. With the rising costs in healthcare, the Cancer.im Foundation identified a need for better education around prevention and quality of life, including nutrition, sleep hygiene, organizing records and researching treatment options.
To launch the “Pay What You Can” Cancer Hospital initiative, the Cancer.im Foundation team is fundraising and coordinating walkathon events with volunteers. For every one of the 181 cancers identified, volunteers walk in honor of all the brave individuals who lost their lives, and for all those who are currently fighting a battle for their survival.

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
The Cancer.im Foundation Objective is to empower all cancer patients on crucial importance of being proactive with the management of their diagnosis. To verify and index cancer survivors experiences onto the www.cancer.im social knowledge wiki, for the purpose of giving future cancer patients the hindsight of present index cancer experiences to support the discovery for the mechanism of action of the rare phenomenon known as "spontaneous cancer remission," a phenomenon that occurs in 1 of 100,000 advanced-stage cancer patients.
Through participation and sharing their knowledge, members can connect to other people affected by cancer, organize personal and professional resources available to them, research the qualitative and quantitative aspects of cancer, and create a customized strategy for beating or preventing the disease.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
Cancer.im has developed a social network consisting of survivors, caretakers, volunteers and patients. The social knowledge network provides a verified, safe space, free of judgment, where members can interact an educate themselves for the sole purpose of increasing their sense of control while lowering anxiety for both cancer patients and caretakers.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
The Cancer.im Foundation spent 10 years building the world's first social knowledge wiki pertaining to cancer, consisting of approximately 3.8 million lines of code. Our infrastructure is in place which can be seen at
1. The Idea - A Framework for the Eradication of Cancer - https://www.ext.com/news-view/20098/13124/the-idea-a-framework-for-the-eradication-of-cancer

5. The Catalyst - https://www.ext.com/news-view/20098/13123/the-catalyst
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
1. Published a 124 Page Cancer Protocol envisioning this model in 2011 - https://www.scribd.com/document/48142383/Robert-Ryan-Cancer-Protocol
2. Engineered this system into a social knowledge wiki - with a copyright wire frame
3. Engineered # 1 into a 16 part modular best practice navigation system for the purpose of raising a cancer patient's quality of life.
4. Engineered the Understanding System, a multi perspective system consisting of the following engines;
4.a Verified News;
4.b Paid and Volunteer Moderation
4.c Utility Token engineered - (for purpose of paying moderators to vett, curate and edit content on www.cancer.im
4.d Video Engine - for cancer survivor interviews
4.e Events Engine - for collaboration with specific experts set in an online group meeting setting;
4.f Reports Engine - for authoritative information, peer reviewed;
4.g Research Engine;
4.h Support Group Engine;
4.i Experience Engine.
5. Engineered and mapped out 168 Specific cancers, allowing members to find cancer specific information pertaining to:
5.1 Researching cancer specific hospitals
5.2 Researching cancer survirvors stories
5.3 Researching specific cancer therapies
5.4 Researching specific cancer doctors
NEXT-
Conversion of our Cancer.im Utility Token to be used as fungible currency for the sake of capturing, verifying and indexing as many cancer survivors stories and experience as possible. We believe that the gathering of this intelligence, will serve both the present cancer patient in increasing quality of life, while giving researchers valuable insight into new diagnostics and therapies.
