Mission

Abandoned Angels Cocker Spaniel Rescue, Inc. (AACSR) dba NY Abandoned Angels Rescue (NYAAR) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to the rescue and re-homing of Cocker Spaniels and other dog breeds in need of loving forever homes. AACSR will not reject any dog due to age or health reasons and often accepts dogs with temperament and/or medical issues. AACSR relies solely on donations whether through adoptions or the generosity of the public to help pay for the veterinary care of sick, physically disabled, and behaviorally challenged dogs. To date, NY Abandoned Angels Rescue has saved over 3,500 dogs, including 200 dogs in 2012, 140 dogs in 2013, 185 in 2014, 175 in 2015, and 125 dogs in 2016. AACSR is a proud member of the Mayor's Alliance for NYC's Animals.

Spay and Neuter

Every year millions of pets are euthanized in US shelters simply because there are not enough homes. Abandoned Angels Cocker Spaniel Rescue is committed to not participating in the problem. Spaying a female dog will help prevent it from getting pyometra or cancer. Neutering a male dog will help prevent it from getting testicular cancer. Prior to placing any animal in a loving forever home, all pets in our rescue's care are spayed and neutered.

Abandoned Angels Cocker Spaniel Rescue will not reject any dog due to age or health reasons and often accepts dogs with temperament and/or medical issues. Most of the dogs in our care are seniors and ALL dogs in our rescue are 100% fully vetted. There are many therapeutic benefits for senior citizens who experience the companionship of an animal. As such, we've developed a program in which we will waive the adoption fees for approved senior citizens wishing to adopt a senior dog. A dog is truly the best friend you will ever have. A dog's love is unconditional, his forgiveness boundless, and his trust and belief in his people unmatched. It is truly humbling to walk in the company of such Angels.
