UTURN FOR CHRIST KAUAI

Adult men come to us in various stages of addiction. It is our supreme desire to help facilitate these men making a complete U-turn to get free from the bondage of addiction and all that it entails. They turn their lives over to the Lordship of Jesus Christ, which helps them to relinquish the control that drugs and alcohol have on them. We aim to teach them life skills, to learn that pain in this life is normal.

The big difference that U-Turn for Christ Kauai provides is that the men are put in real life situations through working and participating in the community. When stresses, frustrations and the desire to escape occurs, the men are taught how to deal with these strong emotions through relying on God and His strength instead of using drugs and alcohol to anesthetize themselves.

Each day the men go out on work crews in the community to help through serving at the food bank, serving at events or helping local people with needs at their homes or businesses. They are supervised at all times, but get to interact and learn a work ethic. Many go on to obtain jobs at the businesses that they have served.

We have seen hundreds of men successfully return to their families and society to live fruitful lives. Many will later come back to tell us of their changed lives and the impact it has made to them, their families and the community.
