Mission

The American Haitian Association for Medical, Economical, & Educational support (AHAMES) was founded in 2006, grew out of the need to help the poor in Haiti. To save the patients time, money, and the risk of having to run errand to satisfy their healthcare needs, AHAMES provide all the medical services on site. This includes: X-Ray, Ultrasound, EKG, Medication, Laboratory services and testing etc. The organization delivers free meals to school children, pays the scholarship of those originated from no or low income families. AHAMES also feeds and provides health care to poor and malnourished women, and the elderly. The organization also supports several livelihood enhancement projects to promote economic self sufficiency.

AHAMES' Programs

AHAMES' programs include a community medical center, and several clinics, a scholarship fund for poor children, and low or no income families, several nutrition and food distribution centers. Water wells projects, clothing and shoe distribution program for poor. The beneficiary population of these programs is estimated to be at 100,000 people during the organization's first year of operation

AHAMES' health care program delivers medical car to the neglected poor in the area of Fontamara in Port Au Prince, Haiti. The reasons for lack of health care providers in the area is due to the fact that the residents are considered to be so poor that they could not afford the cost of health care. That is why AHAMES has chosen to serve the poor in the area by offering the following services:

1- Internal Medicine/ Family Practice,

2- Pediatric Care

3- OB/GYN care

4- Cardiac & Vascular care

5- Laboratory Services

6- EKG

7- Ultrasound

8- X-Ray

9- Medication
