Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Brains for the Cure
In April 2017, we launched our first program built specifically for patients and caregivers: Brains for the Cure—an online navigator to help them understand, manage, and cope with all the twists and turns of a brain tumor diagnosis. When there’s nobody to turn to and everything feels overwhelming, Brains for the Cure offers a level of understanding that meets patients and supporters exactly where they are and helps them find a useful forward step to take, whatever their situation. We’re investing in the future of Brains for the Cure. We’re developing new features for the site to fuel its evolution into a constantly-updating publication. Along the way, we’re making it easier to find from web searches (so people who’ve never heard of us can still get the answers they need when they need them), easier to use from mobile devices, and more current with the latest medical advances in brain tumor treatment.

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
Head for the cure aims to raise awareness, funding, and hope for those in the brain tumor community.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
The mission of Head for the Cure is to raise awareness and funding to inspire hope for the community of brain cancer patients, their families, friends, caregivers and other supporters, while celebrating their courage, spirit and energy.
We accomplish this by hosting a series of 5K runs/walks and other events to raise funding in support of brain cancer research benefiting local beneficiaries and our national beneficiary, The Brain Tumor Trials Collaborative (BTTC). We also provide support through our programs including Brains for the Cure, survivor luncheons and other community engagements. All of these events and programs allow us to raise funds, awareness and hope for the brain tumor community.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
Head for the Cure's primary source of donations come from the 5K Run/Walk events hosted across the country. In addition to these events other supporters across the country organize their own community-driven events. Head for the Cure also has multiple giving campaigns throughout the year.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
Since Head for the Cure was founded, more than $25 million has been raised in support of our mission to defeat brain cancer step by step.
