What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

NextGen Giving Circle

OPF's core program, the NextGen Giving Circle, is the largest online giving circle in the country. Comprised of anyone 18-39 years old who makes the commitment to give 1% of his or her income to philanthropy, the NextGen Giving Circle engages members in identifying, assessing, and selecting grant recipients. The Giving Circle also features educational programs and a participatory grantmaking process, empowering the community to engage in strategic, lifelong philanthropy.

Population(s) Served

The 1% Giving Pledge is a pledge styled after the Gates-Buffett Billionaire Pledge but targeted to students entering the workforce. Over 400 young adults have made a public commitment to give at least 1% of their income to philanthropic causes, directing over $330,000 to charity this year alone.

Population(s) Served

Grant Madness is a twist on the annual NCAA basketball tournament (“March Madness”) pool whereby the winning participants get to select a grant recipient funded by the combined entry fees.
